Frame work and Australian Curriculum
Walkerville Primary School curriculum is based on the following areas of study:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- History & Geography
- Civics & Citizenship
- The Arts
- Technologies
- Health & Physical Education
- Chinese
These programs are based on guidelines provided by Australian Curriculum
The Physical Education, Science, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, English Second Language Program and Chinese programs are supported by school based specialist teachers.
Our school undertakes a number of additional initiatives in most of these areas such as Rocket Reading [an early intervention literacy program], Festival of Music Choir, Wakakirri and a wide variety of school sporting teams. Music lessons are primarily offered through the DECD, Instrumental Music Service in Brass and Woodwind. Private providers offer lessons in: Flute, Piano, Strings, Guitar, Ukulele as well as Speech and Drama and Visual Art.
